In the second game of the double header the Royal's starting LHP, Kevin Phillippe had trouble settling down into the game. Royal's relief pitcher Ryan Riley didn't have any better results in the second inning. The visiting North Shore Twins racked up a huge lead after only two innings. The game was pretty much out of reach. In the 5th inning the Twins made a pitching change and reliever Ty Walker entered the game. The Royals sparked an ambitious rally and scored 7 runs in that inning. This prevented the "merciful" ending. Royals were unable score any further runs despite their "never say die" efforts. Royals relief pitcher Max Spensley pitched well for 4 innings allowing only one run and closer Kevin Biro pitched a shut out in the final inning for the Royals. For the Twins, their starter, Alex Graham was solid for 4 innings facing 13 batters and allowing only one hit with no runs scored. Closer, Griffin Ledingham kept the game in check following the 5th inning Royals rally. Ledingham faced 11 batters in 2 1/3 innings, allowing only 1 hit and no runs.
