Coquitlam starter Nick Alexiou would face the Cannon’s Scott Boatter. Coquitlam would get the early lead scoring two in the third however with the bases loaded and only one out Boatter would get the ground ball to third base forcing the runner out at home. With the bases still loaded the Cannons would get out of it with Boatter striking out the next batter.
Alexiou would not allow a hit until the 4th with two out Carney Chamberlain would hammer a 1-0 fastball over the center fielders head for a standup double. Alexiou would get the next batter to fly out to center to end the threat.
In the top of 6th Justin Krieger would lead off with a double that would prove to be the start of their rally. Alexiou would end up with the bases loaded after a walk, bunt single. He would retire the next batter with a popup to short. Chamberlain would get a RBI walk and then Wick would sac for an RBI. Chris Brien would hit a two run RBI double before a ground out to close the Cannon’s half of the inning. Cannon’s lead 4-2.
Brendan Lim who had relieved Boatter in the 5th would go back to work in the bottom half of the 6th and sit down the Reds in order with a pair of strike outs and a popup.
TJ Watson in relief for Alexiou in the 7th would get three quick outs. In the bottom half Coquitlam’s last chance would be the top of the order with Watson and Lucas Cunningham who between them had 5 of Coquitlam’s 6 hits on the night however they were not against Lim. Lim would get two quick out before walking Alex Calbick. Vaughn Mabone would come in to relieve Lim and get cleanup Tanner White to popup to the third baseman to end the game.
Lim would get the win pitching 2 2/3 inning 0 hits, 3 k, 1 BB. Mabone would get the save.
