Welch and Jung Off to a Good Start with 4th Ranked Central Arizona

Sophomores Dan Welch and Adam Jung, both Victoria Mariner grads, helped Central Arizona to a 4-0 record this past weekend at the Southern Nevada Coyote Classic. The Vasqueros, ranked 4th in the NJCAA polls, defeated 16th ranked Southern Nevada 7-5 and 9-8 and also defeated Northwestern Colorado 17-0 and Salt Lake 9-1. Welch, who is splitting the catching job with Arizona State bound Xorge Carillo, went 6-10 while Adam Jung struck out 5 batters in 2 innings. Central begins its Arizona College League schedule Feb 4th against Scottsdale.
