- Final Score Victoria 5 North Delta 0 Mariners' RHP Cole Holt was named the tournament MVP as he pitched a complete championship game shutout throwing a one-hitter. Congratulations to Head Coach Mike Chewpoy, players, and coaches for their achievement. Also a big thank you to Vancouver Canadians Allan Bailey (Tournament Director) and the Nat Bailey staff for hosting the PBL and doing a fantastic job!  [See all tournament scores]
 
2010 BCPBL Provincial Champions - Victoria Mariners! 

Sat July 31st
It's unbeaten Victoria and North Delta in the Championship final on Sunday. The Blue Jays will need to defeat the Mariners twice to take the championship in this double knockout tournament.

1st Game - North Delta Blue Jays 3 Langley Blaze 0 
Blue Jays RHP Brad White threw a two-hit complete game shutout while the Blue Jays bats hammered out 12 hits scoring two runs in the 4th and one in the 5th.

2nd Game - Victoria 2 - Fraser Valley 1  Mariners' Connor Moughtin and Brody Coulter both had run scoring singles in the 2nd inning to give winning pitcher Connor Russell the run support he needed.

3rd Game - North Delta 3 - Fraser Valley 2  Down 3-0, the Chiefs came back with two runs but Blue Jays' starter Jeff Bouchard closed the door and picked up the complete game victory allowing just two hits, two walks with 5 Ks. 1B Cam Frick knocked in two runs on sacrifice flies for the Blue Jays.

 

Fri July 30th - Action is now underway at Nat Bailey Stadium in Vancouver on a beautiful sunny Friday afternoon. The 3rd seed Victoria Mariners face the 2nd seed North Delta Blue Jays and later today the 4th seed Fraser Valley Chiefs play the top seed Langley BlazeFollow the Victoria-North Delta game live with Pointstreak.

Update - Victoria 2 North Delta 0. Mariners RF Greg Thibadeau knocked in the game's only two runs with a two-out double in the top of the 7th. The game featured excellent pitching by Blue Jays' Mat Tompkins and Mariners' Adam Cessford.

Thu July 29th - The Vancouver Canadians will host the 2010 Final 4 PBL Championship at Nat Bailey Stadium featuring the four qualifying teams that advanced from the Final 8 play-downs this past weekend. Langley Blaze, North Delta Blue Jays, Victoria Mariners and the Fraser Valley Chiefs will square off in a double knockout tournament kicking off  Friday, July 30th at 2:30pm with North Delta taking on Victoria and then at 5:00pm Langley takes the field against Fraser Valley. The announcement of the 2010 PBL all-conference teams and player awards will follow the game. [See complete schedule and scores here]
 
Three games are slated for Saturday at 11:00am, 1:30pm, and 4:00pm. The championship game is set to go on Sunday, August 1st at 12:00 noon. Players and fans will be treated to the Jumbotron to follow play action in the nicest baseball park in our province. Proceeds from a daily or tournament admission will be donated totally (100%) to the Canadians Foundation which helps fund young players who cannot afford to play baseball. Admission will be $2.00 a day or $5.00 for the whole tournament. 
 
The concession will be open so spectators are asked not to bring in outside food or drinks; players can bring their own drinks. Spectators are asked to remove all of their garbage from the stands to help with the clean up each day.  
 
The Canadians invite fans to take in the finest baseball action next weekend at Nat Bailey Stadium. See you at the park!

Note: All Final 4 games will be scored in Pointstreak so fans unable to attend the games will be able to follow them live on the website. Home team scorekeepers will be responsible to enter the games.
