2013 Chiefs Season Outlook

Returning to the Chiefs for his second season as Head Coach, Bryon Kennedy is joined by returning coach Mike Addy who spent 2012 with the North Delta Blue Jays.  Joining them is Chiefs alumni Adam Quan, Douglas College pitching Coach Shawn Schafer, and strength and conditioning coordinator Gord Kerr.  As Paul Hargreaves overseas the operations of this young energetic team, the outlook is positive.

Pitching

Though this year we have a young pitching staff, we believe our pitching will keep us in the playoff hunt.  With returning starters anchoring this club, a lot of quality starts will be counted on by Yuta (Dice) Kikuzaki and Roberto Bevacqua.  With the addition and commitment to building the program we are excited to have 4 former Jr Chiefs making the jump to the senior team.  Lead by Brandon Bohn, Cole Hunt, Jacob Robazza, and Will Gladwell. Pitchers Graham Bailey and Mitchell Anderson join the staff and will be counted on to contribute many innings.

Infield

Probably the strength of our team will be the infield anchored by our grade 11 shortstop and graduating Jr Chief, Kyle McComb.  Beside him on the left side of the infield will be Ryan Pouwells earning that spot by his hard work all offseason.  On the right side of the infield are 2 returning Chiefs, Matt Yee and Garrett Hasner.  Behind the plate we have UBC committed, Braeden Allemann, who is entering his 5th season as a Chief and 11th grader following in the footsteps of high quality catchers that have come from this program is Colton Wright.  The speedy Tyler Ang and Luke Reynolds will be great utility players for our program.

Outfield

Our outfield boasts one returning Sr, Malcolm Upton. Transferred in Tim Bunnett will use his speed and control centerfield.  While Connor Chorpita will not only be an integral part of or outfield but will also be counted on to drive in some big runs for us this year.  Daniel Singer will be counted on to use his speed in all situations to help this team in any fashion.
