2009 CCBC Regular Season Opens in Kelowna
Sunday, 29 March 2009 20:03
The opening game of the 2009 Canadian Collegiate Baseball Conference featured Okanagan College (Kelowna) and the University of Calgary Dinos. The first ever CCBC game for Okanagan College was a memorable one, a 5-4 15 inning win spread over two days. The teams split their four series as did Vancouver Island Baseball Institute Mariners and Kwantlen Polytechnic University Eagles.

The defending CCBC champions Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs (Lethbridge, AB) took their weekend series with Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack (Kamloops) winning 3 of 4 games.

2009 CCBC Season Outlook
Thursday, 19 February 2009 23:44
The Canadian College Baseball Conference (CCBC) opens their league schedule on March 27th in Kelowna where the University of Calgary Dinos visits the newest member of the CCBC, Okanagan College, for an evening tilt. With the addition of Okanagan College the CCBC now supports six (6) teams for the 2009 season. Teams will play a twenty –eight (28) game schedule and are pooled into two – three team divisions for league play.

The addition of Kelowna is a huge plus for the CCBC as a sixth team will allow additional exhibition games for TRU (Kamloops), alleviate scheduling problems, and is the start of establishing college baseball in the Okanagan Valley.  The Kwantlen program will now be affiliated with the Langley Blaze from the Premier Baseball League (PBL) and students will attend Kwantlen Polytechnic University for their academic program.

For the third and final year the CCBC Championships will be hosted by the Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs in Lethbridge, Alberta. The top two teams from each division will qualify for the championship May 14-15-16. Congratulations to the Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs for their 2008 championship win and the hosting of a first class event for the second consecutive year.
