Led by an outstanding 1 hit pitching performance by Cole Holt, the Premier Mariners today won the BC Premier Baseball League Championship title with a 5-0 victory over the North Delta Blue Jays. The Mariners jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back, cruising to their first BCPBL title since 2004. Catcher Connor Moughtin continued to have a hot bat in this one, and led the M's offensively with a 3 for 3 day at the plate. 3B Scott Jones and SS Jesse Hodges chipped in with 2 singles each. With the win Holt earned tournament MVP honours. Congratulations go out to the coaching staff and players for a very successful season. A big thanks goes out to the Vancouver Canadians and the PBL staff for hosting a well run and enjoyable tournament at Nat Bailey stadium.
