The 2011 Nanaimo Palladian Junior Pirates are looking forward to another successful year in the league. Under coach Jordan Blundell and the VIBI coaching staff, players enjoyed an intensive fall ball and winter program and now are stronger than ever. The team has heart and desire, talent and skill, with a mix of eager rookies wanting to make a name for themselves and a core group of experienced leaders returning to show the way. The Pirates are looking for a total team effort in 2011. Offensively, the Pirates have a balanced attack this year, with speed and power throughout the line-up. On defence, players will enjoy playing multiple positions. Returning to the hill, veteran Pirate pitchers Tanner Linn, Nathan and Bryan Odgers, and Alex Anderson know what it takes to win and are ready to seize the opportunity. Joining them on the mound will be Spencer Dawson, Aidan Goodall among others that will be working for outs. Behind the dish, 2nd year catcher Braeden Mousseau is geared up for the 2011 season. He’ll be spelled off by Bryan Odgers and Griffin Andreychuk. Also returning for another year, ready to provide solid D, are Griffin Andreychuk, Griffin Kent, Aidan Goodall, and David Jerome. Rookie Pirates Garrett Goodall, Tristan Olsen, and Bryan Borrelli are ready, eager to do what is necessary to succeed at this level. Running the team will be experienced VIBI professionals Jordan Blundell, Kevin Inch, and Tyler Moretti. They have enjoyed success playing and coaching at high levels and are willing to devote their time, energy and knowledge to teach the Pirate players everything they need for success on and off the field. Good Luck to all the 2011 JPBL teams this year. See you on the field.
