Fraser Valley got through their pool with a record of 3-1 which put them in 2nd place. An opening night 5-0 loss to the Langley Blaze was followed by wins of 4-1 versus Victoria Eagles Friday and a pair of 5-4 wins Saturday against Nanaimo and the Okanagan A's. That set up a semi final Sunday against the host Abbotsford Cardinals who won their pool. The Chiefs got going early and often and dumped the home team 9-0 in the wet and cold. Edmonton Prospects beat Langley 3-2 to advance to the final. With the game tied 3-3 in the 7th with 1 out and runners on 2nd & 3rd, Mitch Dornblut cleared the bases with a double off the left field fence giving the Chiefs a 5-3 lead. Brody Hawkins came in to pitch in relief closing the door in Edmonton's bottom half of the inning.
