Blaze Alumni Tom Poole Signs with Tampa Bay Rays as NDFA

The BCPBL is proud to congratulate former league standout Tom Poole on signing with the Tampa Bay Rays as a Non-Drafted Free Agent (NDFA) following the 2025 MLB Draft.

Poole, who played for the Langley Blaze in 2021 is a strong example of what BCPBL development is all about. Known for his speed, defensive instincts, and competitive mindset, Poole made an impact at every stop of his baseball journey—from the BCPBL to college, and now to professional baseball.

After his time in the BCPBL, Poole advanced to the collegiate level, where he continued to develop into a well-rounded player with strong on-base skills and defensive versatility along with becoming one of the most feared hitters in all of college baseball. The Rays organization recognized his potential, offering him the opportunity to take the next step in his baseball career.

Tom Poole becomes the latest in a growing list of BCPBL alumni moving into professional baseball, and his path underscores the high-performance environment and opportunities the league offers.
